We started Actual Guide because we were tired of the same polished travel content everywhere — glossy photos, top-10 lists, and ads disguised as advice. That’s not how traveling feels in real life.
For us, travel is missing the right bus, finding a hidden café, talking with strangers in broken words, and coming back home with stories that don’t fit into Instagram captions. Actual Guide is a space where travelers share their real diaries, locals share their voices, and useful tips come from people who have actually done it.
Our idea is simple: no fake reviews, no marketing tricks, no “must-see” checklists. Just real stories, honest emotions, and practical insights. We believe those small, messy, unexpected moments are what make journeys unforgettable.
small places you won’t find on “Top 10” lists, from backstreet bars to forgotten islands.
personal stories, sometimes messy, sometimes funny, but always real.
tips that come from practice, not theory: how to rent a car cheaper, find housing last-minute, or navigate a metro system when you don’t speak the language.
We built Actual Guide because traveling is never as shiny as the brochures say. It’s not just about landmarks and picture-perfect views — it’s about the real stories that happen in between. Getting lost in a new city, discovering a corner café that no tourist knows, or asking a local for directions and ending up with an invitation to dinner. Those are the moments that stay with you. And that’s what we want to share here.
